Illustration Friday - SIMPLE

In the age of XBox, PlayStation and everything digital, it's amazing to think that once, such simple toys as these could keep a child occupied and happy....

Micron pens, watercolor pencils and colored pencils.

Very nice work!
I miss the days I played with these simple toys.
They are simple but gave me a lot of imagination and creativity.

There is actually a catalog called "Back to Basics Toys" out of Colorado that has great old toys still being made in it! I got it because I wanted to share some of my old favourites with my grandson. (They can be found at www.backtobasicstoys.com if you are interested!)
Thanks for the memories in this awesome sketch!

excellent job on these.

what's sad is, that while these computer games might develop quick reflexes, they don't inspire creativity and critical thinking.

our children need to learn how to solve problems by thinking outside of the x-box....doing things by rote...bad idea.

What a great interpretation of 'simple'. Now you have got me thinking about toys I used to have as a child... Thanks for bringing back fun times!

I love this idea. I had a very hard time with the word simple. Seems like the word simply threw all of us back into our past. LOL, Great illustration and concept.

this is really cute. simple as it should be. yo yos & hula hoops can be just as entertaining as any fancy robot-esque toy out there.
