Illustration Friday - SONG

The Golden Ages of both songwriting and illustration were beautifully married in sheet music art. I tried to pay homage to the many wonderful artists who created these underappreciated works of art during the first part of the twentieth century.

And the song....here's an excerpt, just in case it isn't ringing a bell:

Heaven, I'm in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek.

—Cole Porter

Created in Adobe Illustrator.

This is cool! I do love the covers of the sheet music, and i think this is a lovely tribute. I also love that song...soooo romantic:> It's fun to see the process, Amy. I so admire your work, so it's a treat to see what's behind the magic:>

This is lovely! I really adore art from that era. It looks like something produced in the 40's. Great job!

i would have loved to live in that time period! This is so clever and wonderful! When I was a little girl and was made to play piano, I would always study all the pictures on the sheet music and I have a small collection. This illustration is perfection!!! p.s. when you commented on my blog last friday I though your avatar would be perfect for song. Your logo is excellent!!!
