Illustration Friday - UNDER THE SEA

This drawing evolved from a sketch I did about two years ago. Originally, this was the "Aloha Dance." For this week's Illustration Friday theme, I blatantly ripped off the name of the dance in "Back to the Future." I couldn't resist!

Unfortunately, since the original is 17" wide, the scan is showing up really small when I post it (even when I click for a larger version), so I'm including some detail shots. If anyone knows how to get larger (or wider) posts to come out close to the real size on Blogger, I'm interested to know how it's done.

Micron pens and colored pencils.

Amy - this is excellent!!! You've captured every stereotype and gesture perfectly...I love the guy who's leaning with his foot against the wall, the nerd with the pens in his pocket, the too-tall girl, etc... I'm sure you had such a good time doing this. It looks like those two by the ater fountain might end up dancing...

This a late comment on your UNDER THE SEA picture... It is really on the mark! Great characters and a story in itself.
