Illustration Friday DANCE

Wow, there are almost as many types of dances as there are cakes! Anyone else have a difficult time narrowing it down this week? Well, I finally chose the Lindy Hop, one of the earliest forms of swing dancing.

Created in Adobe Illustrator.

gotta love saddle shoes. Aren't they about due to come back into style? Nice script too - did you draw that or is it a font?

You never fail to entertain and educate. Okay, now I'll need to Wikipedia and find out where the name Lindy came from... the flyer?
Great illustration and display of fine Illustrator skills.

Okay, I Wikipedia'd and feel really culturally naive. Where've I been? Still didn't find the origin of the name. Okay, I'm done.

What? No love for "The Charleston"?

Great illo Amy. It's quite charming...this would be perfect in a soda shop or one of those retro shops they have down at Universal Studios!

Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna go do "The Monkey."

I like the clean and crisp feel in this piece.

I love it! I'm biased. I love Lindy-Hopping :) I really like the softness you get out of AI. I'm so not good at that program - you make it look really easy.

love it! You have captured the era perfectly. My (now) hubby and I did a lindy hop dance for our wedding dance! I love it!

Excellent work! I love the 50s look of the illustration. I have no idea what Lindy Hop is, but thanks to you, I'm now about to trot off and read up on it!

Thanks for the comment on my blog, by the way. ^_^ I really love the style of your works.
