Illustration Friday - SAFE

I always thought that Joeys had a neat way to travel...and a safe place to hang out.

Watercolor pencils, colored pencils and Micron pens.

I always wondered how (or, hope, if) Kangaroos toilet trained their young before letting them ride!

Great idea. I had the same sort of thing in mind, only with people instead of kangaroos. Nice work.

This is so sweet, Amy! It's really perfect for the topic, and it's so wonderfully done. I've been inundated with work since school started last week, so i never got around to looking at blogs. I missed your gorgeous painting of the pansies...wow! I love pansies, and you really brought them to life.

You know, sometimes when my boyfriend and I are walking errands downtown, I wish my boyfriend had a little pouch like that that I could ride in.

Joeys do have a pretty sweet deal. I wonder if any of kangaroo parents have problems with Joeys not wanting to leave home. Sleeping in the pouch 'til noon, having friends over to the pouch. Playing video games, eating snacks, and eventually setting up basement apartments in the pouch (rent free.)

Anywhoo.. very cute little roos Amy : )

WOnderful kangaroo!! I love it!

elegraph said...

adorable! it doesn't get much safer than that. after all, so many baby "snugli"-type products try to simulate that very closeness b/t parent and child...

Perfectly safe and a lovely thought.
A Mother's side or 'pocket' is always a safe place to be.
