Okay, I'm not one of those folks who's been on the handling side of the needle, but I remember years ago watching my mother darning socks or mending holes and such in clothes (our throwaway society doesn't do that much anymore, huh?). It was a very peaceful and calming and secure activity to watch. Beautiful.

Wow this is so peaceful, she looks like she'd drifted away in her thoughts. So romantic in a way. Clever idea.

Amy, as usual I like your style : )
Your illustration reminds me of my Grandmother, she could sew like nobodies business. I think her entire wardrobe was hand made.

A beautiful, elegant graphite illustration, Amy. You asked about my technique. I am a relative beginner in Photoshop. I'm not very computer savvy. I get confused with layers all the time, but I hobble along in Photoshop as best I can. I've made quite a few improvements in using different Photoshop brushes. It's my choice of brushes that gives me the out of focus backgrounds that I use when I feel it's necessary.
