Illustration Friday - RUN

This was a t-shirt design for a 5K Run Walk to benefit the Delaware-based Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research. All of the birds represented here were native to the tri-state (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey) area. I love doing work for non-profit agencies. I usually have creative freedom which makes the projects more fun, if you ask me!

Adobe Illustrator.

Tri-State Bird Rescue is a wonderful organization marking its 30 year anniversary. For more information, take a look at their website:

I think that it is a great design. I never get much work that is fun, just work. Thanks for the comment on my blog.

that looks great. There are so many risks in a very clean piece with limited color like that, but when it works its very effective

I like how you included all of the birds and still keep the total design clear and easy to read. Wonderful logo.

This is great stuff Amy! I didn't even realize we had one of those events! I am involved with so much fundraising down here...to get involved with Northern DE would put me over the top!

I normally think that posting older art is a bit like cheating, but when I saw your design, I just couldn't help but comment because I am totally drawn to the whole design. This is way cool!

I do a lot of runs over the spring and summer months, but I can't do them all and it is usually the t-shirt designs that help me make the decision. If this run was close to my area, I'd totally do it just to get that t-shirt. Awesome design!

Wonderful color choices! And so well done! You took something that someone else would have made generic (logo-like) and made it a piece of art. Good job!

Amy - Boy, this was a blast from my past: when I used to live in the mid-Atlantic and was first starting out, I did Tri-State's art show one year. How cool to see your logo for them - and it is gorgeous!
