Reflexology is the practice of stimulating points on the feet, hands, or ears, in the hopes that it will have a beneficial effect on some other parts of the body, or will improve general health. The most common form is foot reflexology, in which the reflexologist applies pressure to points on a person's foot. The foot is believed by practitioners and participants to be divided into a number of reflex zones corresponding to all parts of the body.

i love these, calls to mind those illustrations in old victorian scientific journals. great work.

interesting to see there's a zone for the feet! i wonder if you trod on a tack whether you'd feel it in a different part of the body...

Amy - this is great! It would make an awesome poster. It has a vintage look (you always get the looks right for the subject) and a mystical vibe. It also makes me really want a foot massage...now!

Oh, man. This is so great! Mind if I download it and keep it handy? My boyfriend and I are always trying to cure bodily pains and headaches with foot rubs, but we can never remember where all the spots are! Great image and I love the look of the writing. Beautiful work!

this has a very carnival appeal to it, very engaging piece

This is great. I started with a similar idea, and after looking at the reference material decided it was to much detail needed. You completely pulled it off! And with such Gypsy-carnival style to it. It makes me think it would be on the side of some Victorian mad-scientists foot-massage chair.

Hey Amy, thanks for stopin' by my blog :-)
Yes, I used masking fluid for the cactus...but for the stars I used white watercolor. It's the first time I ever use masking fluid and I loved it! I'm surely gonna use more now :-)
Your work is fabulous, keep those illos coming...can't get enough of them.

Phew! For a split second I thought this was political satire. The Left vs. The Right. Then I started soothing my pancreas (thanks to your awesome design I now know how to meet its needs) and everything in the world is plum again. Fantastic design. And thanks for bringing that special feeling back to my spleen!
