Illustration Friday - FARM

This is a watercolor painting of a farm in southwestern Virginia. For many years, my grandparents had their own small farm just a few miles from this one. When my grandfather passed away five years ago, I returned to Virginia and took my camera to capture the beauty of the rural area. This is one of the farms that I photographed. I thought the sign was especially neat, and had a lot of fun painting it and the barn.

I love this Amy! Once again you show another side of your art that is you and slightly different than what you have shown us before. I love everything about this farm and it's signs!!! This would be great in a show with the quilt piece you painted using your grandma.

Amy, this is so rich looking! I love the red against that sky and the green grass. The watercolor is so nicely done, too... I really enjoy seeing your painting that's a bit looser. As Val said, it's another side of your art that shows us how broad your talent is:>

Beautiful illustration. This is like the mother of all barns... the epitome of what a barn should be. We have no such buildings in this part of California... at least not kept up as nicely as this. Wonderful painting.
